A common story is: "I joined right out of High School, tried College and took on some debt...got into a relationship and settled into a job...I'm not sure the Guard fits in my life anymore..."
Most that decide to get out at that point regret doing so as an initial tour of 6 years and then an average extension of 2 years puts them into that critical "12 years left to retire" and keep all the benefits for the rest of their life along with a first retirement under their belt before the age of 40!
